So our day started out on Monday by discovering the refrigerator was not cooling as it should. Granted, we are in a hot-temp climate, but this does not seem enough reason for the 'fridge to not get cooler! So after contacting to the maker for a number to call for warranty work, we made an appointment with a local dealer. However, not until Tuesday a.m. So the logical thing seemed to be "go be a tourist"! We drove to Corpus Christi to go aboard the USS Lexington. MOST interesting, and especially when comparing it to the USS Carl Vinson, on which Ken did a "Tiger Cruise" several years ago. The Lexington was a grand ship in its day! Of course, we happened to choose a day when the wind was blowing in off the Gulf in a rather hardy manner.
Being on the flight-deck in 40mph wind made it difficult to really stay out ther to see some of the jets on display.
And who really needs a hairstyle, anyway?! (That's why I am not in the picture!!!) A late lunch/early supper at Blackbeards, then off to the ballpark. We watched the AA farm-team for Houston play against an Oakland farm-team. The Corpus Christi/Houston team lost, but the evening was great fun. And what a beautiful ballpark they have.
Tuesday was refrigerator repair day, most of it spent on the phone with either the repair company or the manufacturer, but I think we have it all under control now. Original plans to do a little fishing in the Gulf at Goose Island had to take a backseat and will be on the Wednesday list!
Sounds like fun! We've were on the Lexington many years ago. Tony & Scott took the tour, but I have not really been "in" it, just the large entry area and the flight deck. Katrina was a baby then....and it was not built for stroller access.
