Like a turtle, we carry our home "on our back" pulling a fifth-wheel trailer in our domestic travels. We have all the comforts of home, but don't have to mow the lawn!

Mt. Cook National Park
Mt.Cook National Park was beautiful. The glaciers had calved earlier in the year when the rivers were higher, so the bergs in the top and bottom photos illustrate that point. The upper photo is the Tazman River, the lower is the Hooker Valley River (which was over a 5-hour trek, and across a couple swinging bridges-twice on each). Mt. Cook (middle photo) has both glaciers, with the Hooker Glacier coming from the right side of the mountain, but swinging back to the left and towards the forefront of the photo. The Tazman starts around more to the back of the mountain and then flows to the right.
