At Ranchero Village Once Again

Wow:  The following got left in "Draft" mode because I was going to add some photos.  Didn't mean for it to take a week and a half!
So on with the saga, starting June 19:

Did I say Tuesday (June 14)?  Did I say overnight?  Yeah, right!  By noon on Tuesday, Ken had called the repair people to see if the control board was en route.  After checking, the administrative assistant in the office called back to say the good news was that Dometic had shipped on Friday, after all.  However, the bad news was that the board was shipped 'ground', and would not arrive before Thursday!  Arrrrrgh!!

So we paid for three more nights lodging, then went down to the beach to relax in the sun and surf!  Installation did occur on Thursday, and on Friday a.m. we were packed, stowed and ready to roll, headed back to Weslaco where the temp was a mild 99 degrees (F)!

Staying over until Friday morning also allowed us to take in another Corpus Christi baseball game.  Because the home team was not 'home' on Flag Day, nor would be home on the 4th of July, the park opted to combine the two events and held a gala "Military Service Persons" night of honor.  A Coast Guard helicopter landed in center field with two persons aboard -- both deplaned (decoptered?) and one threw out a 'first pitch', then reboarded the chopper and it flew off.  The other stayed, and with a representative of each of the other military services (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines), the five of them each threw a first pitch.  No, it wasn't five balls going to one catcher -- there were five catchers, also!   (Ken also thought he was one smart shopper.  He was checking the webpage for the ball team to see what time the game would start, and discovered that if he said the 'word of the day' at the ticket window, he could get two tickets for the price of one!  Who woulda thought "Monkey Loco" could be worth $$$$$!

'gear up' for that first swim.
Getting back to Weslaco on Friday enabled us to watch the granddaughters in a swim meet on Saturday morning and to finish the day with a Father's Day BBQ at the Rogers' house.  Scott, Cindy and the girls will be headed towards Oregon and the Pacific coast on Sunday or Monday for a fun and much-looked-forward-to vacation of about four weeks.

her event to be called
We shall stay here and take care of some bothersome little "housekeeping" details and then hopefully be able to depart after the 4th of July.  Stay tuned . . .
P.S.  -- The refrigerator does seem to be working now, just as it should have all along! Hurray and Huzzah!
