Yes, welcome to our blog. Ken and I are hoping this will be a great way of keeping you appraised of our travels this summer, 2011 (and other times to come, also). Of course, we had to ask if you have ever felt like a 5th-wheel, but we mean as a means of living/transportation, not in regard to social outlook? Anyway, it seemed to be a good name to put to our blog, at least until we are no longer towing one.
We have so enjoyed our 5th-wheel travels from the summer of 2004 to the present, and although we really liked towing our HR Presidential, it was time to get something else. Would you believe the Presidential was towed about 90,000 miles in the time we had owned it? But now, as of late March, we own a Landmark, the Rushmore model 5th-wheel trailer. Ironic, isn't it, that we went from a model with the four faces of Mt. Rushmore on the front of it, to a new model named for the same National Park?
So here is a photo of the new digs (not that it looks a whole lot different than most other 5th-wheel trailers!) Hopefully, we may pull it closer to where you are and give you the complete tour!
I am sure that as we roam, we will be showing you more, especially of the interior, but bear with us -- we are still learning all there is to learn about posting to this blog!
We are currently in Weslaco, but preparing for our departure to the north by northwest. Stay tuned as we venture from here and work our way to Alaska. Yes, from the biggest state in the lower 48, we plan to get to the biggest one of them all! And in achieving that goal, we will be able to say we have been in every state in the union. (Granted, some it was prior to the 2004 RV adventures!)
Our departure date is tentatively set for May 9th or 10th, but like everything else, it could be subject to change. Guess that is the beauty of being retired -- it's not like we have a plane to catch, and can plan our days as we like!
So until next time, keep yourselves safe and with the Lord -- we will be thinking of you.
