On the road to Akaroa

Talk about clear-cutting! Trees are planted like this al over and harvested at one time whe they mature. They call these sections of trees "plantations". To the right side of the photo is a hedgerow. It acts as a fence, but there is an actual fence on the other side of it. The property owners must come in wit high-rangers, or some such and take a power hedge-trimmer them, periodically!

Ankara harbor is the lower picture. Greatlace to bring your sailboat, eh? The little village at the harbor is quaint, and there are several great places to get fish and chips, not to mention blue (yes, blue) pearls!
