We left Little Rock and motored on to Branson, MO. We checked into a beautiful rv park called Treasure Lakes. It is down the road a short distance from the Shoji Tabuchi theater and I took special note of the location, because in all the times we have been to Branson, we had not been to a show at Shoji's. This time we were determined to get there. After all, I have heard a lot about the powder ro
om.
The concert itself was a pleasant surprise -- I really hadn't looked much at the artist's background, other than to know he was classically trained. Therefore, I thought we would really hear more classic music, and was taken aback a little to learn it was the music of Roy Acuff and his band, The Smokey Mountain Boys, that sparked the interest in Tabuchi's coming to the United States. His wife is an executive director of the show and his daughter, a recording artist in Nashville, also performed. In addition to singing, she choreagraphed many of the numbers.
